Tough times find their way into the lives of millions of American people every day. Having a disability can mean not being able to work or carry out normal daily activities the same way you used to. It can mean relying on family for everything, which can add unnecessary stress to your home. During times like these, most would attempt to find some kind of help or assistance, but unfortunately the systems set in place for situations like these. The Social Security administration is often understaffed and over-budget meaning hard working Americans are left to suffer alone. However, it is important to remember with us, you are never alone.
Our great nation offers the chance for anyone seeking Social Security Disability to acquire representation in an effort to increase their chances of having their case properly reviewed. Fees
The fees that attorneys charge for representing you in the appeal process are regulated by federal law. This means that the attorney fee will be the same for every attorney across the United States. The attorney will be paid only if you win and if the Social Security Administration (SSA) approves your claim. If the SSA approves your claim, it will send you a check for retroactive benefits, and a check covering the months your case was pending in the Administration. Upon your claim’s approval, the SSA withholds the smaller of 25% or $6,000.00 from your (and your family member’s, if applicable) retroactive check, and sends the money directly to your attorney as your fee.
If you or someone you know has been made a victim of the justice system in any way pertaining to Social Security Disability and wish to know how we can help you, please call us or visit one of our local offices. At Harris Law our qualified staff is standing by to assist you in making sure you have the best possible fighting chance.
